PODCAST | A New Solution for Knee Pain: How the KneeMo Wearable May Improve Mobility

In this episode of the Living to 100 Club Podcast, I speak with Drs. Jenny Hledik and Thomas Andriacchi, co-creators of KneeMo, a wearable device designed to help reduce knee pain and support stronger movement while walking.

Many adults with knee osteoarthritis begin to limit their activity as pain increases. Unfortunately, that reduction in movement can weaken the muscles that stabilize the knee—creating a cycle that makes mobility even harder.

Jenny and Tom explain how KneeMo was developed to interrupt that cycle by supporting the quadriceps muscle during walking. Their work combines biomechanics research, motion sensing technology, and a practical goal: helping people remain active and independent as they age.

Our conversation explores the science behind knee function, the importance of movement for joint health, and how emerging wearable technologies may help older adults stay engaged in everyday activities.

Listening Room Question

After listening, I’d be interested in your thoughts:

What strategies have you found helpful for maintaining mobility and joint health as you get older?
